Went by the name of Skipper or Skip. She was the only daughter and oldest of four children of Walter Lee Cook and Georgia Ellen Epling. Georgia married William Denison Kelley,Jr. on August 12, 1948 in Radford, Virginia. Bill and Skipper had 6 children together:

Georgia's husband died at a young age in a plane crash. She returned to school to obtain a Masters in Psychology and in 1970, she obtained a job with the Roanoke County School Board as a school psychologist. Georgia moved her family from Radford, Virginia to Salem, Virginia and continued working as psychologist until her death in 1983.
