Frank was a member of the United States' track and field team at the 1904 St. Louis Olympics and competed in the long jump (then called the broad jump). During the competition, Frank (a Jewish member of the New West Side Athletic Club in New York City) won the silver medal with a leap of 22' 7 3/4". He finished second to fellow American, Myer Prinstein, who set the Olympic record with a jump of 24'1" (for Prinstein, the victory was especially important because he had lost to Frank a few weeks before the Olympics). Upon occasion Frank also participated in the handicap Pole Vault. He may have also been associated with the Irish-American Athletic Club in New York, and the St. Louis Athletic Club.
