Born Dec. 16, 1945, at Boswell to Bruce and Margaret Caldwell Maytubby, he died May 10, 2006, at a local hospital. He was preceded in death by his father, Bruce, daughter, DeLetha K. Maytubby, and a sister, Marie Maytubby.
Maytubby was baptized at an early age at St. James Baptist Church. He moved to Ardmore at a young age and joined Macedonia Baptist Church. Larry graduated from Douglas High School., He then joined the U.S. Army from 1966 to 1968, serving in Vietnam. Larry was a war hero and received several metals while serving as a helicopter gunner. His decorations include the Air Medal, Bronze Star and Purple Heart. He and Georgia Mae Williamson were married and blessed with three children.
He leaves to cherish his memory three sons, Mario Maytubby, Oklahoma City, Karlos Maytubby, Ardmore, and Stefan Perry, Ada; daughter, Darlene Maytubby, Ardmore; mother, Margaret, Ardmore; former wife, Georgia Maytubby; six brothers, Martin, Bruce, Cecil, Joe, Terry and Ricky Maytubby; sister, Rhode Ann Maytubby; three uncles; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of other relatives and friends.
Bearers are friends of the family. Honorary bearers are Maytubby's brothers.
