Children's Entertainer. A native of Kirkman, Iowa, Anderson is best remembered for his role as 'Clarabelle The Clown' on the classic children's program, "Howdy Doody" from 1947 to 1960. Although 'Clarabelle' never spoke a word on the program, the character did say 'Goodbye, Kids' in the very last episode. In his later years, Anderson was the leader of a big band. He passed away at the age of 84. (bio by: K)

Mr. Anderson, I was watching the last show when you said "Goodbye Kid." It was a sad day in television. I always loved to watch that show and see you perform as Clarabelle. May you rest in peace and may God richly bless you.|
