Elvin M. Miller, 84, of rural Greenville, died 30Oct at 9:50 p.m. at Utlaut Memorial Hospital in Greenville.
Funeral services were held Saturday at the First United Methodist Church in Greenville with Rev. Charles Chadwell, Rev. Ken Bryant 7 Darlien Young, liturgist, officiating. Interment was in Mt. Auburn cemetery in Greenville.
The Schildknecht & Young Funeral Home in Greenville was in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Miller was born 15Apr1912 in Dudleyville, the son of Thomas C. & Mabel (Blizzard) Miller. On 14Sep1935, he married Kathryn Adams in Collinsville. She survives.
Also surviving is a son, E. Glenn Miller of Tenafly, NJ; a daughter, L. Jean Denzel of Florissant, MO; sister, Kathryn Gruber of rural Greenville; & 3 granddaughters & 2 great-grandchildren.
A son, John Thomas & 2 sisters, Geraldine Meyer & Inez Budde, preceded him in death.
Mr. Miller was a Greenville High School graduate & worked at Bass Bakery, Anthony Electric & Taylor Electric, all in Greenville, & operated the projector at the former Bond Theater. He also farmed. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Bond Co. Farm Bureau, American Legion Post #282, VFW Post #1377 & was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army.
