Robin A. Lund, 50, of Davenport, Iowa, died Wednesday, January 31, 2007, at Barnes Jewish Hospital, St. Louis, Mo., following a courageous battle with complications from a bilateral lung transplant. Celebration of Life services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, February 6, at Weerts Funeral Home, Davenport. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to the Scott County Humane Society.
Robin was born October 6, 1956, in New Kensington, Pa., to Harold and Patricia (Duncan) Wiles. She married James Lund on October 19, 1983, in Davenport. Prior to her illness, she worked as a bookkeeper with Automotive Finishes, Davenport. Her memberships included Faith United Methodist Church and involvement with Grace United Methodist Church, both of Davenport. She was a Pittsburgh Steelers fan, and enjoyed playing bingo, cooking and baking for others, her pets, and especially her children and grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband, James; daughter, Michelle (Michael) Hornbacher, of Elkhorn, Neb.; son, Joseph Childs (fiancée, Shelly Miller), of Davenport; grandchildren, Peyton and Gavin Hornbacher, and two others on the way this year; and sister, Sheila (David) Winter, of Davenport. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Robin's family would like to give special thanks to the St. Ambrose Community, Faith United Methodist Church family, and friends for all of their support and love. Robin's beautiful smile will be missed by everyone.
