Following her death in 1933, he married Sarah Ellen Carson Winnup on 24 December 1935 in Wood County. His third marriage was to Ruth Myers on 5 June 1943 in Wood County. Thearon was of medium height and stout build with blue eyes and dark brown hair. He was a member of the Weston Church of Christ and the Truth Seekers Bible Class.Thearon died from myocardtis at the age of 84 years 7 months and 25 days.
