Mr. Joe Talton, 91, Jonesborough, passed away Saturday, February 7, 2015 at the Johnson City Medical Center Hospital.
He was a native of Greene County the son of the late William and Nina Franklin Talton. He was also preceded in death by his step mother Lulu, one son Dennis Keith Talton, and two Grandsons Travis and Kevin Costner.
Mr. Talton was a World War II Army Veteran and he retired from Ford Motor Company.
Survivors include his beloved wife, Doris Talton, two sons Mike and Dave Talton (Christine), Jonesborough, four daughters, Nina Oswald (Frank), Jennifer Costner (Terry), Margaret Fossett (Danny), all of Jonesborough, and Sherry Norton of the home, four brothers, Dewey, Ralph, Wallace and LV (Joann) one sister, Rosalee Jennings, 19 Grandchildren, 29 Great Grandchildren, 1 Great Great Grandson, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mr. Talton will be Tuesday, February 10, 2015 at Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home with Pastor Eddie Blazer officiating. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm prior to the service. Interment service will be 1 pm Wednesday, February 11, 2015 at the Tilman-Gosnel Cemetery in North Carolina.
