Agnes Monroe Allen was born on 28 August 1820 in Dysart, Fife, Scotland. On Nov. 25, 1839, she married Peter Grieve (1818-1875) in Wemyss, Fife, Scotland. In 1854 they left Scotland and headed to America with 5 young children in tow. They lived in Illinois and had 3 more children. Peter predeceased her in 1875. She never remarried. Both she and Peter are at rest in unmarked graves in Caseyville Cemetery.

Upon requesting a photo, it was learned that she is buried in unmarked grave, next to her husband, Peter, whose grave is also unmarked.
