ABIGAIL (DANE) FAULKNER, gained fame (or infamy) as a convicted witch in the Salem Witch Trials. Her very young daughters and sister were also accused. ABIGAIL only escaped hanging by being pregnant with son AMMI RUHAMAH FAULKNER. The mass hysteria of the witch hunt was over by the time of his birth. The Puritans being such merciful people did not hang pregnant women. ABIGAIL did finally receive a pardon and some financial restitution years later.

ABIGAIL3 DANE (FRANCIS2, JOHN1) was born October 13, 1652 in Andover, Essex, Massachusetts, and died February 05, 1729/30 in Andover, Essex, Massachusetts. She was the daugher of REV. FRANCIS DANE and ELIZABETH INGALLS. She married FRANCIS FAULKNER October 12, 1675 in Andover, Essex County, Massachusetts, son of EDMUND FAULKNER and DOROTHY RAYMOND. He was born May 1651 in Andover, Essex, Massachusetts, and died September 19, 1732 in Andover, Essex, Massachusetts.
