Mr. Davis was a Deacon and Trustee of Green Ridge Presbyterian Church He was a loyal member of the Bain Bible Class and was responsible for completing many special projects around the church. Mr. Davis was retired from U.S. Steel.
He was predeceased by his wife, Mamie S. Davis.
Mr. Davis is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Bettie and Tommy Barnard; two granddaughters and husbands, Dana and Ronnie Staton and Debra and Jayson Henderlite; two great grandchildren, Tomas Deayn Henderlite and Kayla Michele Staton; one brother, Clifford Davis of Parsonburg, Maryland and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at Green Ridge Presbyterian Church at 2 p.m. March 2, 1999. The Rev. Harry B. Christie will officiate. Interment will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at Oakey's's North Chapel from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 on Monday, March 1, 1999. The family request that memorials be made to the Green Ridge Presbyterian Church. Arrangements by Oakay's North Chapel.
