John V. McNeill, 81, of Terre Haute, passed away on Tuesday, February 3, 2015, at Union Hospital. He was born on September 16, 1933, in Shelburn, to John and Grace (Johnson) McNeill. John proudly served in the United States Air Force from 1953 to 1957. He worked for 30 years at Stran Steel. John was an avid Cubs, Colts, and IU fan. In his younger days, John played music for local bands in the 1960's and 1970's. John was a country boy at heart, he loved coming home every day from school and working on his family farm. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. John was an expert mushroom hunter and never missed a year. He also loved to garden by hand, his garden that took up almost a full city block.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Judy Lynn (Bridgewater) McNeill, a son Steve McNeill, his parents, brothers; Donald, David, James McNeill, a sister Virginia Stamper, a step-son, Thomas French.
