Melba Fern Estep, age 73, of Anna, Texas, passed away peacefully at her home on April 19, 2007, surrounded by her family and friends, after a long, courageous battle with breast can-cer. Melba was born into the Anna/Rosamond community in Texas on April 28, 1933, to Aleck Dale and Lena Bell (Ashmore) Cawthon. She graduated from Anna High School in 1950, and married Bob Estep on Sept. 29, 1950, in Sherman, Texas.

She worked many years at Wysong Hospital as a respiratory therapist in addition to keeping the books for the family business. She was a member of First Baptist Church of McKinney. She was a beautiful wife, mother, grandmother, daughter and friend. She loved family time and traveling in their RV. Melba was a strong Christian lady and very much an inspiration to others. It was her faith in God that helped her through the hard times she has recently faced. She touched the lives of many with her positive look on life.
