Wilma Jean Scroggins Blankenship, 73, passed away Saturday, January 31, 2015 in a Chattanooga healthcare facility. She was born in Chattanooga but spent the last 37 years in Polk County. She retired from Westvaco after 25+ years of service. She enjoyed spending time with her family, friends but especially her grandchildren.
Mrs. Blankenship was preceded in death by her husband, George A. Blankenship, Jr.; sisters, Betty Mattox and Joyce Ramsey; step-daughter, Libby Blankenship; parents, Charlie Melvin and Elsie Lockett Scroggins.
She is survived by her children: Edward , Sharon, step-daughter, Deborah and 9 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; brother, Louis Scroggins of Signal Mountain, TN.
Reverend Jimmy Parm officiated at her memorial service with Higgins Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
