Alma Mabel Clement, 91, passed away Friday, May 5, 2006
Funeral: 10 am Monday, First Baptist Church, Wellington, the Rev Kevin Everett, pastor and the Rev Derwin Comer, minister of music and youth, officiating. Burial: Fairview Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 pm Sunday at the funeral home.
Alma Mabel Clement was born in Oklaunion. She moved to Collingsworth County with her family when she was 6 months old. She and her sister were farmers since the early 1940s.
She and Inez also cooked for various functions in Wellington, including Kiwanis Club, where they were famous for their pink cookies and homemade rolls.
Mabel was a member of First Baptist Church, where she was a worker in the primary department for 65 years. She was also active in the Home Demonstration Club, RSVP and WMU.
She was preceded in death by her parents, E.C. and Ethel Clement; sisters, Nellie Sue Clement and Inez Clement; brothers, Stansell Clement and Eli Clement; and nephew, Stan Clement.
Survivors: Her sister-in-law, Lillie Clement of Lamesa; nephew, Dr. Robert Clement and his wife, Betty of Austin; nieces, Pat Ranson and husband, Lynn of Lamesa, Judy Bland and husband, Earl of Mineral Wells; six great-nieces; two great-nephews; a great-great-niece; two great-great-nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.
