Member of 105th Coast Artillery during World War II and served in campaigns throughout North Africa and Italy. He was awarded the RAME Campaign Medal with seven Bronze Stars and one Bronze Arrowhead, the Good Conduct Medal, and the American Defense Service Medal. He was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army on July 16, 1945.

Preceded in death by: parents, George and Maude McInvale; sisters Ruby Lee Garland, Patty Jo Parker, and Veronica Ann Smith; brothers Oxford McInvale and Dewitt McInvale; daughter, Anna Beth McInvale.

Survivors: wife, Opal Imogene "Gene" McInvale; a brother, Elbert McInvale; sister, Dorothy McInvale; numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Nov. 19, in the West Main Baptist Church in Alice.

Pallbearers: Charles Roberson, Steven Roberson, Clem Pierce, Lewis Cobb, Bruce Burgan, and Donnie Morgan.
