BELVIDERE - Ruth L. Nordman, 97, of Belvidere died at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 13, 2001, in OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center. Born Oct. 18, 1904, in Leland, the daughter of John and Lilly Johnson Stroud. The family moved to Oregon in 1916. Ruth graduated from Oregon High School with the class of 1922. She attended DeKalb College (NIU) and taught grade school in Ogle County. Married Fred A. Nordman in 1925 he died in 1977. They farmed in Ogle County until 1953, when they moved to Boone County and farmed in the Capron area until retiring. Ruth was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and the Ladies Guild. Survivors include sons, Donald (Marjorie) Nordman of Durand, Robert (Shirley) Nordman of Belvidere, Fred Nordman of Rockford and Jack (Helen) Nordman of Lake Havasu City, Ariz. daughters, Lynn (Donald) Ackerman of Viroqua, Wis., and RuthAnn (Harold) Behling of Caledonia 25 grandchildren 44 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren. Also predeceased by parents, a brother, and granddaughter, Sandra. The family gives a special thanks to the entire staff at Maple Crest Care Center, OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center and Dr. Warren for the care given to our mother.
Services at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 17, in Immanuel Lutheran Church, with visitation from 10 a.m. to service time. The Rev. Allan Buss and the Rev. Eugene Wille will officiate. Burial in Highland Garden of Memories.
