Services was Wednesday at 2 pm from Morrison-Elkins Funeral Home in Florence with Bob Plunkett and Alden Hendrix officiating. Burial was in Sheffield Oakwood Cemetary.
Survivors include his wife, Ester Mae Howard, Florence; one daughter Velma Inez Sparks, Florence, three sons; Thurman O. Howard, Cecil Howard and John E. Howard, all of Florence; his step-mother, Mrs Rebecca Howard, Russellville; five sisters, Mrs Bertha Taylor, Russellville, Mrs Katie Swindle, Mrs Willie James and Mrs Dessie Hester, all of Tuscumbia; Mrs Evelyn Sparks, Phoenix, Ariz.; two brothers, Odell Howard, Tuscumbia, Wallace Howard, Chicago, Ill.; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Bearers were Gene Ray Hester, Larry Howard, Johnny Howard, Frankln Swindle, Gertrude DeVaney and Gerald Devaney.
