Betty Jean Manning, age 78, of Newport, passed away Saturday, January 24, 2015 at North Knoxville Medical Center.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul E. Manning; son; Alvin Manning; parents, Frank and Edna Sprouse; brothers, Bill Gorrell, Newell Sprouse and Robert Sprouse; and sister, Dorothy Butler.
She is survived by her sons, Steve (Sami) Manning of Knoxville, Jeff Manning and Donnie Manning of Newport; daughter, Karen (Mitch) Woodson of Newport; grandchildren, Heather Easterwood, Georgia; Jameela Manning of Knoxville, Justin manning of Georgia and Erik Manning of Knoxville; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Edward and Bernice Manning of Newport; and many other family and friends.
Funeral services will be held 7:00 pm, Tuesday, January 27, 2015 in Manes Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Alvin Watts officiating. Burial will be held at 11:00 am, Wednesday, January 28, 2015 in Resthaven Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm Tuesday at Manes Funeral Home prior to the funeral service.
