Nell loved to cook and utilized her skills cooking for Toddle House and Steak and Egg restaurant for many years. All of her customers called her “Mama Nell” and frequented the restaurants just to see her. She enjoyed long discussions about food with her family, especially foods that were unique to her family while growing up and cooking for her family brought her much pleasure. Known as “Grandma Nell” to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, she loved spending quality time with them and loved them very much. Nell also enjoyed singing church songs and reading scriptures, she also attended services at Park Manor Nursing Home.
Nell was preceded in death by her parents and siblings Frances Louise Franklin, John D. Franklin and James "Monroe" Franklin.
Surviving Nell are her husband of over 60 years, Pascual Rodarte; children Pascual Rodarte, Jr. and wife Phyllis, Mary Baty and husband Gary, David Rodarte and wife Edith, and son Paul Rodarte. Grandchildren: Christy, Jason, Randy, Brittny, Jennifer, Daniel, David II. Great-grandchildren: Riley, Gage, Chase, Allison, Audrey, Austin, Maddox, Sammie Lynn, Miranda, Emily, Bailey, Hunter, Tymber, Presley, Joseph, Evelyn and one on the way, Luke, a host of nieces, nephews and cousins who will all miss her dearly.
A chapel service will be held 2:00 pm, Wednesday, January 21, 2015, at Roselawn Funeral Home followed by interment in the Garden of Valley View, Roselawn Memorial Gardens, all in Seagoville, Texas
