Douglas Monroe Hegna 84 of Kasson formerly of Hayfield passed away Sunday January 18, 2015 at Field Crest Care Center in Hayfield.

Douglas was born June 12, 1930 in Sargeant to Knute and Maybelle Hegna. Doug was united in marriage to Sally Thronson on June 23, 1956. Douglas served in the U.S. Army 1951-1953 and was a member of the American Legion for 68 years. He worked as a heavy equipment operator of Quarve and Anderson Construction Company in Rochester and retired in 1994.

Douglas enjoyed camping, fishing and spending time with family and friends.

Survivors include 3 children, 5 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

Douglas was preceded in death by his wife, three brothers, two sisters and one grandchild.

The funeral service will be held at 11AM Wednesday January 21, at St. John's Lutheran Church, 301 Eighth Ave. NW in kasson with Pastor Randy Fett officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. There will be no reviewal. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery in Kasson, with military graveside services provided by the American Legion Post 333 of Kasson.

Arrangements are with the Dibble Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Kasson.
