ALSEA - A potluck memorial gathering will be from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday, May 6, in Laurel Park in Junction City for Byron E. "Duke" Burt of Alsea. He died April 30 of cancer at age 77.
He was born May 5, 1928, in Tillamook to Frank and Bertha Baker Burt. He and his wife, Alberta, were married in 1976 in Coos Bay. He had worked in logging.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, Frank Petersen, Jim Lee Burt and Rodney Burt; two daughters, Tracy Burt and Shannon Burt; 10 grandchildren and four great-grand- children.
