OBITUARY - LaVERNE YEATER
LaVerne "Johnny" Yeater of Racine died at St. Mary's hospital in that city on January 19, 1989 at the age of 58. The son of Dean and Jesse (Eastman) Yeater was born in Forest county August 19, 1930 and had lived and worked in the Kenosha and Racine area for some time, where he was employed in the steel industry. He married Margie Campbell in Forest county in 1953.
Mr. Yeater is survived by his parents, Dean and Jesse Yeater, Laona; three daughters, Monna Yeater Kecker of Orlando, Florida; Mrs. John (Lynette Yeater) Clayton, Moline, Ill.; and Mrs. David (Debra) Skaggs of Yakima, Washington; two sons, Dean (Rene') Yeater of Eureka, California, and Tommy Yeater of Spokane, Washington; 13 grandchildren. A brother preceded him in death.
Visitation was Monday, January 23rd at the Church of the Nazarene, Laona, from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral at 11 a.m. Rev. Raymond L . White officiated and interment was in Laona cemetery. Halverson-Suminski Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements. Pallbearers included Carter Drake, Ray Howen, Charles Chapman, John Clayton, Russell Collins and Harry Chapman. Relatives and friends attending the service were: John and Lynette Clayton, Moline, Illinois; Margie Richards, Wisconsin Rapids; Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Zolle, Waupaca; Bernice Yeater, Milwaukee; Ellen Hess, Milwaukee; Mary E. Howard, Tipler; Mrs. Dale Steinhardt, Rhinelander; Laura Yeater, Rhinelander.
