American-Swedish artist who made his name in numerous productions on Broadway - for instance "Show Boat" at the Ziegfeld Theatre and "Caribbean Carnival" at the International - as well as in Paris, London, the Caribbean and in Sweden during his career. He founded the "Claude Marchant Dance Company" and teamed with several distiguished choreographers and dancers in the business. After leaving America for Europe, he ended up in Sweden, where he founded Balettakademien (The Ballet Academy) in Gothenburg 1967 (with Lia Schubert) and in 1968 the "Clade Marchant Dance Theatre".
