Well known Chapin woman is dead.

Mrs. Mary Booth passes away at home of her daughter in East Moline, Illinois. Funeral held at Chapin Sunday.

Mrs. Mary Ellen Webb Booth, widow of the late John Thomas Booth, and a well-known resident of Chapin, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. John Collins, in East Moline, Illinois, on Tuesday, March 13th, 1917, age 67 years, 5 months and 8 days. The body was brought to Chapin for burial and funeral services, conducted by Rev. L. E. Crouch, were held there from the Congregational Church Sunday afternoon at 1 o'clock.

Mrs. Booth was born October 5, 1849, at Shellsburg, Wisconsin, where she spent the earlier part of her life and was married on March 6, 1869, to John Thomas Booth. about the year 1888 the young couple moved to Iowa locating first on a farm near Sheffield. In 1893 they moved to Chapin.
Mrs. Booth was preceded in death by her husband and one daughter and one son. She was the mother of nine children. The children surviving are; Mrs. Albert Jackson, Hazel Green, Wisconsin; R.A. Booth, Marshalltown, Iowa; Mrs. James Vokes, Chapin, Iowa; T.E. Booth, Waukegan, Illinois; Fred Booth, Ladora, Iowa; Charles Booth, Hampton, Iowa; Mrs. John Collins, East Moline, Illinois.

She is also survived by the following brothers and sisters; William Q Webb, Hampton, Iowa; Frank H Webb, Belmont, Wisconsin Joseph W Webb, St Joe, Michigan; J Ernest Webb, San Francisco, California; Mrs. Samuel Farrell, Conestoga, South Dakota; Mrs. M.E. Smith, Buer, Minnesota,; Mrs. Ellen Merley, Shullsburg, Wis.
