Janet Elaine McMahon was born November 10, 1949 in Waynesville, Missouri. She was the daughter of the late Otto Ellet Wilson and Geneva Mary (Welch) Wilson. She attended school at Stoutland, Richland and Laquey.
On April 27, 1985, Janet was united in marriage to Donald Ray McMahon and they raised one son Ryan Ellet Wilson. They shared over 25 years of marriage together and many wonderful memories.
As a young woman, Janet professed her faith in Jesus Christ and was a member of Eureka Baptist Church. She worked at Ft. Leonard Wood and retired after 30 years of faithful service. After retirement, Janet worked at Ozark Outdoorsman and really enjoyed spending time having breakfast with Gene and Patsy. She loved Granny's strawberry shortcake. She will be fondly remembered by dear friends, Dana Bushong, Carolyn Lambeth and Lucy Sutton.
In her youth, Janet played softball for a Waynesville team and enjoyed many floats along the Gasconade River with family and friends. She and Donnie enjoyed raising dogs together and did so for many years.
Janet was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, especially her precious granddaughter, Madysyn. She will be sadly missed by all those that knew and loved her.
Janet leaves to cherish her memory, her husband: Donnie; one son: Ryan Ellet Wilson (Hope), Lebanon, MO; one granddaughter: Madysyn; parents-in-law: Walter and Stella McMahon, Richland; sisters-in-law: Karen Wilson and Donna McMahon, both of Richland; several beloved nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends.
In addition to her parents, Janet was preceded in death by one brother, Ronald Ray Wilson and one brother-in-law, Ronald Dale McMahon.
Funeral services were held at 3:00 p.m., Monday, June 28, 2010 in the Memorial Chapel of Richland with Bro. Doug Jacobson officiating. Carolyn Lambeth and Johnny Prewitt shared fond memories of their dear friend Janet. Special music selections included "Cryin' For Me", "In the Garden" and "See You Soon". Serving as escorts were David Brothers, Micah Brothers, Rob Lambeth, Scotty McMahon, Tommy Clark, Leroy Myers and Justin Elliott. Honorary escorts were Tyler Wilson, Derek Brothers, Nick Dodd, Bo Brothers, Jerry Chandler, Ricky McMahon, Alan Dodd, Zachary Brothers, Ross Brothers and Charlie Wiggins.
Burial followed in the Mt. View Cemetery near Richland, Missouri. Services were under the direction of Memorial Chapel of Richland.
