Delila Stitt Reed, 89, of Ririe passed away peacefully on December 31, 2014 at her home.

She was fourth of the six children born to Ben and Eva Rosina [Klinger] Stitt. Siblings: Carlyle Benjamin Stitt (1918-1974), Klea Gertrude [Stitt] Howell (1919-1996), John (Jack) Fredrick Stitt (1921-1985), Robert K. Stitt (1927-1995) and Eva Kay [Stitt] Chapman (1933-2003). She graduated from Ririe High School and attended Ricks College. She married Gale A. Reed in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple on February 23, 1945. Gale and Delila made their home in Ririe, Idaho, on the family farm where they raised their six children. Delila worked as a bookkeeper for the Rigby School District and Ririe Co-op.

She was an active member of the LDS church and served in various leadership positions in the ward and stake. She and her husband Gale served a mission for the LDS church at the Idaho Falls Visitor Center and also served as officiators in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple.

She is survived by her husband, Gale, and her 6 children: Rosemary Dixon of Pocatello, Idaho; Janice (Ron) Squire of Heber Arizona; Donald (Jolynn) Reed of Ririe, Idaho; Robert (Diane) Reed of Mountain Village Alaska; Carolyn Reed of Paradise Utah; Loralee Lovell of Ririe, Idaho; 29 grandchildren, 75 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers, 2 sisters, 1 granddaughter, 2 great grandchildren, and 3 nephews.

She left a legacy of integrity, love, and service. Her compassion and true love of her Savior, Jesus Christ was exemplified in all the acts of kindness and service that she extended to everyone she met. Her loving husband of 70 years, and her children will miss her greatly, but are at peace in the knowledge of eternal families.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, January 5, 2014 at the Ririe Stake Center, 14061 N. 130 E. Ririe. The family will receive friends Sunday, January 4th from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. and from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. prior to services both at the church. Burial will be in the Ririe-Shelton Cemetery. Services are under the care of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby.
