Of Flossmoor, formerly of Olympia Fields passed away Sunday, April 23rd. She was preceded in death by her husband Gabriel in 1978 and son Daniel in 2005. Survived by her sons Jeffrey (Susan) Aprati of Mokena, Michael Aprati of Phoenix, AZ, daughter, Gabriela (Donald) Weisberg, Chicago and daughter-in-law Michelle of Chicago Grandchildren Danielle Weisberg, Brittany & Gabriel J. Aprati, Jordyn Weisberg, Tyler and Amanda Aprati. Brothers Ernie (Gloria) Petrelli of Park Forest, Bill (Dory) Petrelli of Crown Point, IN and sister Odea (late James) Thise of Park Forest. Born in Milan, Italy, she came to Chicago Heights as a child and until fourteen years old toured in and around the Chicago area as a juvenile actress with an Italian Repertoire Company. She studied radio, acting, and announcing at Columbia College. A spirited Community leader, she served as St. James Hospital Women's Auxiliary Past President, Treasurer of the Women's Board of Jones Memorial Center, Committee Chairman of the Chicago Heights Community Fund, Co-Chairman of the Nine Holers at Olympia Fields Country Club. She was an avid golfer, philanthropist, entertainer, gourmet cook, member of the Italian Resistance, and a friend to many Visitation 4-9:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 26th at Heartland Memorial Center 7151 W. 183rd St, Tinley Park Funeral Thursday, April 27th 9:00 a.m. from Heartland Memorial Center to Infant Jesus of Prague Church, Flossmoor 10:00 a.m. Mass. Interment Assumption Cemetery, Glenwood. Memorial Contributions may be directed to St. James Community Foundation or Alzheimer's Assoc.
