HAYS — Steven M. Stramel, 96, Hays, died Monday, Sept. 29, 1997, at Hays Medical Center.
Mr. Stramel was born Dec. 29, 1900, at Pfeifer and was a resident of St. John's Nursing Home since 1991, moving from Pfeifer. He was a farmer and a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church, Pfeifer.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Pauline, in 1981 and two sons, Wilbert in 1993 and infant Merwin.
Survivors include a son, Verlin of Hays; five grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. today at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Pfeifer, the Rev. Frank X. Grinko officiating. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Pfeifer. Memorials may be made to Holy Cross Charities Inc. Visitation will be from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. today at Cline's Mortuary of Hays, 1919 E. 22nd St., Hays 67601.
