Nettie C (Sis) Stopp,76 of Saylorsburg,passed away Sunday April 23 in the Inpatient Hospice Unit at Lehigh Valley Hospital,17th and Chew Streets,Allentown.
Born April 24,1929 in Nesquehoning,Carbon County.She was the daughter of Emily Clewell Highland Fritzinger of Wind Gap. and the late Albert G Highland.Nettie worked as a payroll clerk for the former Valerie Fashions,Wind Gap,worked in accounts payroll at Easton Hospital and retired from Valley Forge Towers,King of Prussia,Pa.She served as auditor for Ross Township.Nettie was a former member of Mount Eaton church and presently a member of Zion Presbyterian Church,Wind Gap.Her first husband Charles Nonnemaker died in 1977.
Survivors include her second husband Robert Stopp of Saylorsburg,two daughters,June Thornton and her husband Harry of Easton,Catherine Bergstresser and her husband Scott of Saylorsburg,two stepsons;Robert Stopp of Chula,Vista,Calif.and James Stopp of San Diego,Calif.;two brothers,Albert Highland of Freemont,Calif.,and David Highland of Apollo,Pa.three sisters Dolores Roberts of Saylorsburg,Joanne Hillegass of Emmaus and Linda Bradley of Verona,Pa.four grandchildren;Richard Sostorecz,Jeffrey Sostorecz,Micheal Bergstresser and Amanda Bergstresser,two step-grandchildren;seven great-grandchildren,Dylan,Samantha,Brittany,Jeffrey Jr.Alexander,Ashleigh and Dominik.Burial Mount Eaton Cemetery.
