Clarence J. Essary, 73, Rogersville, passed away in Cox Medical Center South at 3:45 a.m., Wednesday, May 18, 2005, surrounded by his family.

He was born October 18, 1931, in Rogersville, the son of the late Everett J. and Ruby A. (Filbeck) Essary. He was united in marriage to Faye Gideon on October 28, 1950, in Harrison, Arkansas. Clarence served as a full gospel minister for over 47 years at the Grace Full Gospel Church, Rogersville. He was a bus driver for the Logan-Rogersville School District for over 20 years and was an auto mechanic and a member
of the 166 auto auction. He was also a member of the T.P.A. where he served as chaplain. He enjoyed horseback riding and cattle farming.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Faye; three daughters, Deborah Witty and husband, Garry, Della Jernigan and husband, John, Carla Shadwick and husband, Ronnie; a brother, Layman Essary; a sister, Shirlene Sheffler and husband, Ron, all of Rogersville; five grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and
friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, May 21, 2005, in J.D. Lee and Sons Funeral Home, at the corner of Highway 60 and Farm Road 223, west of Rogersville. Burial will follow in Watts Cemetery, south of Rogersville.
