Dr. Knight came to Putnam County from Maryland in 1826. Dr. Knight was the first physician in Putnam County. He was followed to Putnam County by his uncles Thomas and Elijah KNIGHT, and by numerous cousins, who moved to Marion Twp. over the next 10 years from Fleming Co. KY.
He married twice:
Ariadne Jennings (1807-1840) m. 1824
Elizabeth Egbert (1800-1859)
Dr. Knight took under his care the orphaned daughters of his sister Eunice (KNIGHT) PECK and JAMES PECK who died in Maysville, KY in 1832 of cholera.
