Betty LaRae Landon; 70, of Ririe, Idaho died Saturday, April 24, 2004 in Rigby, Idaho at the Pinebrook Assistive Living Center.
Betty was born November 17, 1933 at Ririe, Idaho, the daughter of Buck Smith and Mary Rachael Mortensen Smith. She attended schools in Ririe, Idaho and graduated form Ririe High School.
Betty married Alden M. Landon in Ririe, Idaho on May 29, 1952. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple on March 26, 1966.
Betty was a homemaker but had worked at Don Wilson’s Drug store serving customers at the fountain. She gave her time as a Brownie Leader in Idaho Falls, taught aerobics in Ririe and was a long time resident of Island Park, Idaho.
She enjoyed snow-mobiling, four-wheeling, crocheting and knitting.
She was survived by a daughter, a son, a sister, a brother, 5 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren [names deleted].
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alden M. Landon; her parents; a sister, Berna Hughes; and a brother, Glen Smith.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 29, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. at the Eckersell Memorial Chapel (101 W. Main, Rigby, Idaho). The family will meet with friends on Wednesday, April 28, 2004 from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. and on Thursday, prior to services from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. at Eckersell Memorial Chapel. Burial will be in the Ririe-Shelton Cemetery.
