He was born Nov. 14, 1886, at Huron the son of Lewis C. and Etta Tredway. He attended Huron and Yankton colleges and was graduated from Beloit College, Beloit, Wis., in 1908. He was married to Stella VanArsdale July 14, 1915.
He coached at Huron High School for several years following his graduation from college and was a prominent official in State high school and college athletic circles.
He served two terms as county clerk of courts. In 1926 he entered the sporting goods business in Huron and has been in that buisness since.
He was a member of the Presbyterian Church, Elks Lodge, Masonic Lodge and ElRiad Shrine.
Survivors include his widow, Stella; one son, William, huron; two grandchildren, Sally and James; one sister, Mrs. Richard Haney, Mishawaka, Ind.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Frank and a Sister Mrs. C.M. Daley.
Funeral Services were held in the Presbyterian Church. The Rev. Albert Peters officiated.
Burial was in Riverside Cemetery.
