Wayne E. Wright, 91, of Waldron, passed away on Jan. 20 at the Putnam County Hospital in Greencastle.

Mr. Wright was born on June 10, 1918 to John Ernest and Florence (Durbin) Wright. He graduated from Waldron High School in 1936. He married Estelle Reese on May 27, 1944. He was an electrician with IBEW Local Union #481 for 65 years; he had retired in 1982. Wayne was a member of the Waldron United Methodist Church. He was a member of Waldron Masonic Lodge #217 F&AM for over 50 years where he was a 50 year Past Master, Flat Rock Chapter of the Order of Easten Star and Past Patron of the Waldron Chapter Order of Eastern Star. He also was a member of Eagles Lodge in Greensburg.

His survivors are his son Dwayne Wright and daughter-in-law Anne of Terre Haute, two nephews Doug Winn and Jeff Wright, one niece Cindy Stuckey, granddaughter Nicole Niki Jordan and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, one brother Bernard D. Wright and one sister Naomi Ruth Winn.

Visitation were at the Glenn E. George Funeral Home on Jan. 24 from 1 to 3 p.m. Masonic & Eastern Star Service were held at the funeral home at 3 p.m. on Jan. 24. The funeral service was held at the Glenn E. George Funeral Home in St. Paul on Jan. 25 at 10 a.m. Burial was at Van Pelt Cemetery in Shelby County. Memorials can be sent to the Waldron United Methodist Church in care of the funeral home.
