Carl 'Charles' Chritian Gottlieb Warth was born 1 Mar 1848 in Stuttgart, Baden-Württemberg Germany.

He was born to Andreas Jacob Warth and Marie Charlotte Johanne Bauer and his baptism or christening was 13 Mar 1848 in Stuttgart, Württemberg, Germany.

U.S. Atlantic Ports Passenger Lists have him, a blacksmith, traveling with his brother Augustus, a painter, from Bremen Germany to Galveston Texas on the ship Bark Fortuna, arriving 11 Dec 1868, about a 50 day transatlantic crossing.

The 1870 Census shows him as a Blacksmith still but in the 1880 Census it shows him married and working as a Machinist, and his Father Jacob an Engineer & Machinists, with his wife Lizzie a 'Keeping Home' It also shows her born in Texas, but that her father was born in Hessen-Darmstadt Germany and Mother born in Prussia.

His Certificate of Death shows his wife as Elise 'Lizzie' Warth. She is listed as 'Lizzie' in the 1880 US Federal Census, but sadly by 1900 it shows Charles G. Warth as being a widower, and that he had been married for only 7 years, which means his wife passed in the 1880's some time as their first child was born in Aug 1880.

This being an assumption until documents prove otherwise, as their first child Julia Warth was born Aug 1880. Perhaps they were married first half 1879, and perhaps that she died in 1886 or so.

In the 1900 US Federal Census, was living with his Daughter Julia Warth and his son Charles Martin Warth being 17 years old and born Sep 1882.

In the 1910 US Federal Census confirms his arrival date of 1868 and showing him as a machinist with his son Charles now 27 living with him.
