From 1933 to 1967, Mr. Bedford was elected and served as state treasurer (1933-1935; 1937-1939; 1941-1943; 1945-1947; 1949-1951; 1953-1955; 1957-1959; 1963-1967) and as state auditor (1935-1937; 1939-1941; 1947-1949; 1951-1953; 1955-1957, and 1959-1963). His last election bid for State Tresurer ended in defeat in 1966, losing to Republican Virginia Blue. Mr. Bedford ran for governor in 1942 as a Democrat, losing to John Vivian. Resided at 2901 S. Ogden in Englewood, Colorado.
