Daughter of Walter Jackson and Dexter McKenzie (Haynes) Bellamy.

Freeda Bellamy, 88, of Weber City went peacefully to be with the Lord on Thursday morning (December 9, 2010) at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center.

She was a lifelong resident of Scott County where she lived in the Cowans Branch Community many years. Freeda graduated from Whitney’s Business College in Kingsport. She retired from the payroll department with AFG Industries with 46 years of service. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Weber City. She spent her entire life making sure others were taken care of. She was a mother to all of her nieces and nephews.

Miss Bellamy was preceded in death by her parents, Walter & Dexter Haynes Bellamy; a sister, Mary Ann Parker Johnson; a nephew, Wally Parker.

Freeda Bellamy is survived by her sister, Willie Fink (Weber City, VA); a special cousin, Arbutis Hilton (Weber City, VA); nephews, Chris Fink & Tony Fink; nieces, Patricia Parker & Lesa Lane along with great nieces, great nephews, great-great nieces & great-great nephews. A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday (December 11, 2010) at 2 p.m. at Scott County Funeral Home with Rev. Paul Blessing officiating. A graveside service will follow the service on Saturday (December 11, 2010) at Rogers Family Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, 508 Princeton Road, Suite 102, Johnson City, TN 37601. Carter-Trent/Scott County Funeral Home is serving the Bellamy family.
