GILBERT, MR. LOUIS B. - age 88 of Seymour, passed away Wednesday, December 10, 2014, at his home. He was born on June 11, 1926, in Knox County to the late William and Bertha Cusick Gilbert.
Mr. Gilbert was a retired meat inspector for the USDA, a 32nd degree Mason, a member of Shiloh Baptist Church, and a charter member of Sevier Heights Baptist Church.
He is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Ellen Drinnen Gilbert; sons, Donny (Teresa) Gilbert and David (Margaret) Gilbert; grandchildren, Melanie (Eric) McDaniel, Scott (Molly) Gilbert, Ben (Candace) Gilbert, and Joe (Brandi) Gilbert; great grandchildren, Audrey, Grace, Finnian, Joshua, and Jack; and several nieces and nephews. Special thanks to niece, Sheila Gilbert.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by daughter, Pamela Gilbert; brother, James "Boda" Gilbert; and two sisters, Georgia Gilbert and Vella Taylor.
Funeral services will be held Friday, December 12, 2014, at 7:00 p.m. at Shiloh Baptist Church, 1432 Shiloh Church Rd., Seymour, with visitation beginning at 5:00 p.m.
