Floyd H. Maret, 55, a former resident of Hendley, died at his home in Grand Island, Wednesday, March 13, 1946 after an illness of three months. He was born July 24, 1890 at Western, Nebr., the son of John and Martha Maret. At Hendley he was a state maintenance patrolman. On March 4, 1925 he was united in marriage to Cora Thayer at Smith Center, Kans. To this union 10 children were born: Paul Wayne, of the navy; Mrs. Bert Runyon of Hastings, Mrs. Harold Linner of Beaver City; Genevieve Maxine, Kenneth James, Peggy Alemits, Tommy Lee, Bonnie Darlene, Judith Jane and Doretha Pollyanna, all at home. Surviving are two sisters and four brother. His parents, two sisters and one brother preceded him in death. Funeral services were held Sunday at the Geddes funeral home in Grand Island, conducted by Rev. Lawson Brown of the nazerine church. Pall bearers were John Wolzen and James Conner of Hendley, Herman Duering, George Burwood and Carl Saderson of Grand Island and Carl Eckhoff of Hershey. Isterment was made in the Grand Island cemetery.
