Peggy Rae Tate Bennett, age 54, of Lawson, died Saturday, December 6, 2014, at Excelsior Springs Hospital in Excelsior Springs.

A funeral service will be Wednesday, December 10, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. at Wright-Baker-Hill Funeral Home in Brookfield. Burial will be in Morris Chapel Cemetery near Purdin. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. Wednesday and the family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until time for the service.

Memorials to Morris Chapel Cemetery may be left at or mailed to Wright-Baker-Hill Funeral Home, PO Box 496, Brookfield, MO 64628.

Peggy Rae, daughter of Edgar “Bud” and Dora (Fowler) Tate, was born September 13, 1960, in Milan. On April 7, 1979, she married Roger Bennett.

She was a 1978 graduate of Linn County R1 High School near Purdin. She had worked as a Workforce Development Specialist at the Missouri Career Center in Kansas City for 34 years.

Survivors include her husband, Roger of the home; one son, Austin Bennett and wife, Sheri of Kansas City; one daughter, Paige Bennett of St. Joseph; her mother, Dora Tate of Purdin; one brother, Reagan Tate of Brookfield; two sisters, Nancy Spencer and husband, Dean of Browning and Christina Tate of Purdin; her mother-in-law, Dora Bennett of Browning; one stepdaughter, Nicki Belzer of Marceline; one stepson, Neal Bennett of Milan; one niece, Kacie Calhoun and husband, Jimmy of St. Joepsh; a nephew, Mark Saccaro of Kansas City; and one great-nephew, Tate Saccaro of Kansas City.

She was preceded in death by her father and niece, Melanie Tate Saccaro.
