Edward Lynear Cox, 55, of 142 Morningside Drive died Monday at his residence. Born in Laurens County, he lived in Wilkinson County for a number of years. He was a retired electrician for Dennard's Electrical Service. Survivors; wife, Barbara C. Manuel Cox of Gordon; children, Verlynda Towery of Gordon, Edwarl L. Cox, Jr. of Milledgeville and Sgt. Wilford E. Cox of Ivey; mother, Grace Downs Cox of Milledgeville; sisters and brothers, Mary Lynell Allen of Gordon, Annie Joyce McKeldry of North Carolina and Paul Cox and David Cox, both of Milledgeville; and seven grandchildren. Services; 4 p.m. Wednesday in Ivey Baptist Church Cemetery. The Rev. G. B. Howell will officiate. Visitation; 7 until 9 tonight in Williams Funeral Home in Gordon.
