Jay Charles, well known resident of the Clearspring district died suddenly at 1 a.m. Saturday at 1 a.m. Saturday at his home at Sunnyside, aged 50 years.
Born and reared at Charles' Mills, he was the son of the late John and Susan (Carr) Charles, and a member of St. John's Reformed church of Clearsprng.
He is survived by sisters,Mrs. Jacob Ankeney, Clearspring; Mrs. William F. Marston, Arlington, Va.; and the Misses Madge and Lynn Charles, both at home; and brothers, Jack, U.S. Navy, at Guam; Sidney, Boonsboro; and Clark and Seth, both at home.

The body was removed to the A. K. Coffman funeral home, where services will be held 2 p.m. Monday by the Rev. Wade Huffman. Interment in St. Paul's cemetery, near Clearspring.
