Many of our people were surprised to learn of a very sudden death here Monday night. James S. Greenlee, who has been with his daughter, Mrs. Craig, at Yellow Prairie for some time, spend Monday in town, stopping during the day at the home of Mr. Eddins, where Mrs. Craig was visiting. About 5 o'clock in the afternoon he started back to Yellow Prairie and just as he was leaving town was taken violently ill with something like cramp. He was taken back to the home of Mr. Eddins and medical aid was summoned, but he could not be relieved and died about 8 o'clock. His health had not been very good for some time, and as he was subject to heart trouble, it is stated his death was caused by that disease.

He was buried from the home of Mr. Eddins Tuesday afternoon, Rev. Jeff D. Ray conducting the services, and the interment was at the Masonic cemetery. Mr. Greenlee was 66 years old, a venerable old gentleman loved and much respected by everyone who knew him. He had been stopping with his daughter since the death of his wife, about a year ago. He leaves four grown children.

Mr. Greenlee's life was a very interesting and noteworthy one. He was born in Virginia and was a graduate of a university in that state, having been an ordained Presbyterian minister for a long time. He served under Mobley in the confederate army and won worthy distinction for good and gallant service. About forty or more years of his life had been spent in Texas.
It is always sad to learn of the sudden death of a good man, and there are many of our people who are moved to the deepest sympathy for the relatives and friends of this departed citizen.
