Passed away suddenly Monday evening, April 3, 2006 at the Bronson Methodist Hospital, Kalamazoo. Barbara was born May 25, 1956 in Bay City, MI, the daughter of Clemens and Madeline (Kroll) Irion. Barbara was employed by the State of Michigan, working at the Department of Agriculture. She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, Paw Paw. On April 7, 1984, she was united in marriage to Raymond Balzer at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Unionville, MI. Surviving are her husband, Raymond; two daughters, Margaret and Rose, both at home; her mother, Madeline Iron of Sebewaing, MI; a sister, Martha (Jeff) Pearce of Long Grove, Iowa; and a brother, Timothy (Sandy) Irion of Sebewaing, MI; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at the Adams Funeral Home, Paw Paw, on Thursday 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held at the Trinity Lutheran Church at 11 a.m. on Friday. Barbara will Lie in State at the church after 10 a.m. Burial will take place at the Demerest Cemetery at Unionville, MI, at a later date. The family suggests that memorials be made to the Scholarship Fund of Trinity Lutheran School. The family is being served by the Adams Funeral home, Paw Paw, 657-6347.
