The funeral for Elmer William Stewart, 57, who died Friday at his home, was held Monday in Williams Chapel. The Rev. Larry Glover officiated. Burial was in the Union Baptist Church cemetery in Laurens County.
Mr. Stewart was a native of Laurens County but had lived in Baldwin County for 32 years. He was a veteran of World War II, a retired heavy equipment operator and a member of Union Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Clarice Batchelor Stewart of Milledgeville; a daughter, Miss Cherry Denise Stewart of Milledegeville; a son, Jamie Stewart of Milledgeville; six sisters, Miss Pearl Stewart, Miss Vela Stewart, Mrs. Mozelle Crisp and Mrs. Evie Dell Glover of Dublin, Mrs. Rosalind Trotter of Wrightsville and Mrs. Lora Bell Braddy of Jacksonville, Fla.; and two brothers, Chevious Stewart of Dublin and Clovis Stewart of Milledgeville.
Williams Memorial Chapel of Milledgeville was in charge of aarrangements.
