Preceding her in death was son John Milton. Kathryn also maintained close ties with her husband's family in Mississippi.
Loving wife to husband Robert, Kathyrn was a devout member of the First United Methodist Church. After retirement the two enjoyed traveling around North America visiting such places as Boston, Alaska, Vancouver, San Francisco, and Washington D.C.
Kathryn was a 1944 graduate of Rice University and a beloved reading teacher at Bay City Junior High for over 20 years. She enjoyed hearing from her former students who would tell her that she encouraged their education.
Throughout her life, even while teaching, she was an active volunteer in Bay City at the Public Library. Her community service continued as a member of the Pilot Club and Delta Kappa Gamma in Bay City.
She is remembered for her selfless dedication to her friends and family. Even while caring for her mother and father she continued her volunteer service for many years as a Pink Lady at the Matagorda County Regional Hospital. She was lovingly active in her grandsons lives, and also loved her cat Callie and the Houston Astros.

She will be laid to rest at Roselawn Memorial Park in Van Vleck.
