| Birth: | Oct. 28, 1933 | | Death: | Jan. 20, 1983 |  Professional Football (Soccer) Player. He was born in Pau Grande, Magé, Rio de Janerio, Brazil. He was born knock-kneed and with a leg shorter than other. But, this was not a handicap for him. His first professional team was the Botafogo from 1956 to 1964. In 1962, he was named the Best Player of the World. He participated in three World's Champion, in 1958, 1963 and 1966, with one of the best team of the football's story, along with Pelé, Didí, Vavá and Zagalo. He was known as Garrincha, a bird of Matto Grosso Forest. He died in the poverty of alcoholic problems. His funeral was in the Maracaná Stadium, and his coffin was covered with the Botafogo Club colours. He died in Rio de Janeiro. In the cemetery, there is a memorial of brazilian people that reads: "Ele Era una Criança Doce, Falava com os Passarinhos." (He was a Sweet Child, He Spoke with the Little Birds.)
