Maynie was born March 10, 1934, in Amarillo to Newman and Ada Carter. She was an Amarillo High School graduate.
Survivors include a son, Carter Ramzel of San Antonio; two daughters, Stephnie McGhee of Spokane, Wash., and Amy Corser of Atlanta; a brother, Uell Carter of Amarillo; a sister, Louise Chambers of Amarillo; and eight grandchildren.
