Lloyd George Sanford, 94, La Plata, MD (formerly of Oxon Hill, MD) Lloyd George Sanford was born on October 4, 1918 in Washington, DC. He was the oldest child of six by the late Lloyd C. and Ida Cook Sanford of Oxon Hill, MD. He grew up on the family farm, attended Congress Heights High School, worked as an usher at the Lowes Palace Theater and a fuel technician with Allied Fuel at National Airport, which is where he retired. He was a loving son, brother, husband, father, and grandfather. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, and one sister. He is survived by his beloved wife, Pearl May Sanford; his daughter Anita Cross and her husband Ken; his son, Ronald Sanford and his wife Diana; and his grandchildren, Ken Cross, Tina America, Lorri Crabtree, Ronda Clift, Diron Sanford. He is also survived by 11 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, and his buddy, Paul Small. Friends received on Wednesday, August 7, 2013 from 10:30AM until time of Funeral Service at 11:30AM at Raymond Funeral Chapel, 5635 Washington Avenue, La Plata, MD 20646. Interment to follow at St. Barnabas Episcopal Church Cemetery, 5203 St. Barnabas Road, Temple Hills, MD 20748.
